We're all in this together!

Providing Community Support

In a Mainstreet Credit Union branch, you'll see we're always ready to help. In our communities, you'll find us serving in every way we can.

For us, it's all about community involvement.
Making charitable donations

Volunteering our time and skills
Sponsoring community events
Providing financial education

We're always active in our Kansas City, MO/KS area communities

For us, community support means lifting up our neighbors and helping improve lives in many ways – volunteering our time, investing in important causes, partnering with local organizations and providing financial education free of charge. We're always looking for ways to make a difference. Here are snapshots from some of our recent events!

Golf Tournaments

Whether we have a team playing in the tournament, we’re sponsoring a hospitality cart, or giving away promos via our big wheel of prizes at a hole – we love being a part of the Chamber and School Foundation Golf Tournaments!

Mastering Money Seminar

Financial education is for everyone! One way we promote financial education and literacy is through our Mastering Money seminar where Kelly demystifies credit scores by telling you what makes up a credit score, how you can improve/maintain it, and how you can make your credit score work for you!

Mission Farmers' Market

We have been proud Presenting Sponsors of this fun, weekly, family (and dog) friendly summer event in Mission for 10+ years now and have loved every (hot and sweaty) second of it! While we only have a booth on the first Thursday of each month, the market happens every Thursday during the summer. We would highly recommend strolling through and supporting local!

Olathe Chamber’s Fourth Fridays

We are the official Cool Zone Hydration Station sponsor for Olathe Chamber’s Fourth Fridays held in downtown Olathe! So, if you are at Fourth Fridays and need a place to cool down and hydrate, we have you (and your pups) covered!

Fiercely local, and proud of it!

The back-to-school season is always a busy one for us! Since we were started for teachers by teachers, we like to stay true to our roots and do all we can to support local educators in their financial journeys, even though we are no longer a teachers-only credit union.

In August, we sponsored and attended nearly 15 breakfasts, lunches, and wellness fairs for local school districts. At these events, we gave away promos and talked about how Mainstreet can help local educators through products such as our Main Perk Loan, free financial check-ups, and Banzai, a free financial literacy program for them to use in their classrooms!

Mainstreet Credit Union is dedicated to supporting our members' financial journeys with trusted local services in Kansas City, MO and Kansas.

Helpful Details

You may schedule payments 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Payments scheduled on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday will be debited from the account the next business day.

The Bill Payer processor processes payments on all days excluding Sundays and Federal Reserve Board recognized holidays. In cases where a payment gets scheduled on a Sunday (this can potentially happen on a recurring payment), the payment is processed on the day before (Saturday). If you happen to be setting up the payment on this particular Saturday, the bill payment will be processed on the next banking business day. Also, please note that weekly recurring payments may not be scheduled on Saturdays.

Mainstreet Talk is published quarterly via email.

To ensure you receive future emails, please make sure we have your preferred email on file. Simply log in to OnlineAccess to update your email address.

If you are having trouble receiving our emails or finding them in your spam folder, you may need to whitelist us. Whitelisting an email address just means you add them to your approved senders list. Doing this protects against overzealous spam filters.

Whitelisting is a quick task to ensure the sender of an email gets added to the recipient’s safe senders list.

Here are simple instructions on how to ensure that our email lands in your inbox every time:

  • Gmail

  • Yahoo

  • AOL

  • Apple

  • Android

Gmail
Getting all future emails from a sender to appear in the “Primary” tab (instead of “Promotions”) is a quick, two-step process.

First of all, drag-and-drop the email message from beneath the tab it’s currently filed under, to the “Primary” tab:

Once done, an alert will appear with, “This conversation has been moved to Primary. Do this for all future messages from [email protected]?” Select “Yes”:

Yahoo
When opening an email message, a “+” symbol should display next to From: and the sender’s name. Select this and an “Add to contacts” pop-up should appear. Select “Save”:

AOL
In the preview pane for an opened email message in AOL Mail, select the sender’s From name under the email’s subject line and select “Add Contact” from the drop-down menu:

  • Conventional - There is a 3 percent down payment requirement.

  • Zero Down - No down payment required for first-time home buyers. A 1% minimum borrower contribution is required, which can be part of closing costs or required cash reserves.

Mortgages with less than a 20 percent down payment require Private Mortgage Insurance to protect the lender against default. When considering the size of your down payment, consider that you'll also need money for closing costs, moving expenses and possibly repairs, decorating or appliances. Call us at 913-599-1010 to learn more about down payment requirements.

Retaining servicing means that Mainstreet will take care of your loan after closing. We receive and post your payments and pay taxes, homeowners insurance and mortgage insurance out of your escrow account (if you have an account set up for this purpose). We also perform annual escrow analysis, issue payoff requests (we don't charge any payoff statement fee or fax fee for this service) and perform collection activity if that becomes necessary. Retaining servicing is very important to us because it allows us to take care of our members after closing and do other nice things for you, such as paying dividends on your escrow account!
