Step 3:

If you have payroll or other direct deposits to your checking account you will need to switch those deposits to your new Mainstreet checking account. Use this handy checklist to make sure you haven't missed anything!

Payroll Items

Contact your payroll officer for the proper form.

Social Security Payments

Call 1-800-772-1213 to make the change.

Other Deposit Items

Pension/retirement funds, tax refunds, child support and earnings/dividends. Advise the sender to use Mainstreet's ABA Routing and Transit Number with your new checking account number. See box below:

Mainstreet Credit Union
13001 W. 95TH STREET
LENEXA, KS 66215

ABA/Routing # 3010-7918-3

Account # __________________

Step 4:

If you have automatic debits from your checking account to pay bills, you will need to switch those to your new account also. Review your bank statements or the following list and advise each company of your new account information using our ABA Routing and Transit Number with your new account number (these numbers are found on your checks and deposit slips).

  • Housing (Rent or Mortgage)
  • Auto Loans and Leases
  • Insurance
  • Credit Cards
  • Utility Companies
  • Cable/Internet Provider
  • Charitable Organizations
  • Investment Companies
  • Monthly Dues

Step 5:

Close your former account. Once you are confident all of your checks and debit card items have posted and direct deposit and automatic payments have been transferred to your new account, you can close your old account. You can do this in person or by notifying the financial institution in writing.

Any of our Member Service Representatives can help you with this process.
