Women & Money

Women & Money was developed by women for all women who want to manage their personal finances well, build assets, and plan ahead for life changes. The classes are designed specifically for any woman who is currently managing their family’s resources or planning to take a larger role in handling money matters in the future. Mainstreet is proud to sponsor this educational program in partnership with Housing and Credit Counseling, Inc.

Santa Claus is coming to Mainstreet!

Santa Claus has scheduled five visits to Mainstreet Credit Union this holiday season.

He will be taking time to listen to each child’s Christmas wish during the following visits:

Wyandotte: Thursday, Dec. 4 – 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Lenexa: Thursday, Dec. 11 – 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Olathe Downtown : Saturday, Dec. 13 – 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Lawrence 23rd St. location: Thursday, Dec. 18 – 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Mission : Saturday, Dec. 20 – 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Santa will be seated in the lobby of each branch and welcoming children of all ages for visits and photos. Please bring a personal camera for any photos you wish to take. Begin your holiday festivities with this local celebration at Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park. Stroll through the park while taking in the spectacular lights and listening to carolers. Santa can be found in the Gazebo to hear children's holiday wishes. Stop by the Mainstreet tent for some hot cider to keep you warm.

International Credit Union Day is October 16th, but we’re celebrating the whole week with contests!

“Why I love Mainstreet” Facebook Video Challenge

 

Leading up to ICU Day, we want to know why you love Mainstreet. All you have to do is create a video telling us what you love about Mainstreet Credit Union. It can be a maximum of 2 minutes.

We do have several requirements:

The Mainstreet website, mainstreetcu.org, must be included in the video either verbally or visually.

You must mention a minimum of three specific reasons you love Mainstreet.

Send your videos to events@mainstreetcu.org. Please include your name and phone number. The deadline for entries is 11:59 p.m. October 13. Please keep the videos clean and positive. Once videos have been approved, we will post them Oct. 14th and 15th. Winners will be announced on ICU Day.

Prizes are:

1st place - $100 VISA Gift Card     

2nd place - $75 VISA Gift Card      

3rd place - $50 VISA Gift Card

 

Virtual Treasure Hunt on Twitter

 

Beginning October 14th and each day through October 18th, a photo of a coin from a different country will be posted to Twitter. Take a look at the photo and then find the three hints for the day to help you identify the country of origin of the coin. Make sure to write down the day and the country because there will be five coins total throughout the week – October 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th.

Treasure hunters will need to submit a list of the coins to events@mainstreetcu.org with their name and phone number by 11:59 p.m. October 18th.

On October 20th, three winners will be randomly drawn from all the correct entries and awarded a $25 VISA Gift Card.

International Credit Union Day Blood Drive – Friday, October 17th

 

The Community Blood Center will be on site at the Lenexa branch, 13001 W. 95th St., Lenexa, KS 66215, in their Blood Mobile. Members are welcome to save lives by donating much needed blood from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (last appointments and walk-ins taken at 12:15).

WALK-INS ARE WELCOME, but if you would like to schedule a time to donate, please follow these steps:

Click on “Schedule an Appointment” on the right side of the page.

Under “Search for Sponsor,” change the date to October 17th and put MAINSTUN in the “Code” box and hit Search.

Click on the Mainstreet Credit Union Donor Bus link and you will be able to see available appointments and schedule your own.

 

 

 

 


Member Appreciation Day

 

Join us at the Kansas City Zoo. Tickets are at a discounted rate for Mainstreet Credit Union Members. Members must visit the Mainstreet table in front of the zoo and present verification of membership such as debit card, member card, or ATM card to purchase $4 tickets. Tickets are only on sale from 9am to noon, but you can enjoy the zoo until their regular closing time.

Tiblow Days Parade-

The Bonner Springs-Edwardsville Chamber of Commerce sponsors Tiblow Days, the city's annual heritage festival. It is celebrated the last weekend in August, prior to Labor Day. Bonner Springs was originally named Tiblow in honor of Henry Tiblow, a Delaware Indian who operated a ferry across the Kansas River. The city was renamed Bonner Springs in the 1880s. 

Activities and events take place at K-32 (Cedar Street) and Second Street, K-32 and Third Street, Oak Street , Second Street and Elm.

Get your lawn chair set up along the parade route and enjoy all the bands, floats, marchers and especially $eemore $avings at the Old Shawnee Days Parade, which begins at 10:00 a.m. Then head to Shawnee Town to spend the day shopping, eating, riding, and taking part in the kid-friendly hands-on history activities.

Enchanted Forest–

Lenexa’s Enchanted Forest has something to delight even the smallest Halloween revelers. On October 24, the jogging trail in Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park at 87th and Greenway will transform into a forest full of friendly mascot characters, marionette puppets, singers, magicians, seasonal displays, a bonfire and lots of fun stuff for kids. The wooded jogging trail provides the perfect backdrop for this enchanting event. You’ll want to bring the entire family to the “forest” to see what mischievous fun takes place.

$eemore $avings will be attending the Enchanted Forest to hand out goodies for the trick-or-treaters. Wear your costume!
